They did a good job. My only complaint with they kept changing the paralegal that was handling my case like 3 times during the whole process. Otherwise no problems.
Canada rules are not complicated at all. You don't need any agent for doing paperwork.

Now it's clear. You don't want people to drag you down, even when they have had gone through everything, Labor, I-140, been in the country for 10 years, etc. -- I thought you had a noble cause from the older posts, but apparently I was wrong.
This also started getting ridiculous. In my own post, and agreed by almost everyone else, I specially said to put on restrictions to those who can file AOS, e.g. with I-1140 approved, or with a PD older than a certain number of years. Where did you get the impression that every H1 can arrive this country and be on EAD in six months? Why did I found that the extreme generalization and scare tactic employed by you has an alarming resemblance to those from Lou Dobbs and Grassley?
And to answer your last question, even with a PD of 2007, I've been in the US for ten years, but could not file green card due to company bankruptcy, layoff, etc. and I am 90% certain you've been here shorter than I am. Then should give up your EAD till everyone who stays here longer than you does?

I am with you on the ludacris comparison brought by hydboy77. He keeps calling the EB3-EB2 porting line cutters as if these guys were paying 10,000 USD to buy substitute labors. Those Eb-3 folks have stood in line just like him, you and me and have an employer who values their contributions and has a position that has EB-2 requirements he can hire this EB-3 guy. Rather than thinking about the problem at its root, he keeps attacking people who port their PD and calls them line cutters. Bottome line: He has EB2 PD and worries that he will be screwed worse. While it is good to worry about the problem, it worries me when that worry comes at the expens of other's good. Jeez! we dont need anti's. We get dragged down by your own. Probably he does not know what USC code 1571 section 8 says even before AC21 came into picture. Congressional intent was to get a GC for every one with in 6 months. Infact he does not want every one to get EAD because he is scared. Doesn't a legislation that takes out the similar/same after 6 months and gets every one on to EAD is the best one as people will be able to demand what ever they want and put the kabosh on Grassley who keeps bitching that H1B's are paid peanuts?

I dont know whether he would have been happy, if DOS did not move dates and neither 04 guys and 06 guys got their GC, 20,000 visa numbers were wasted. I for one have a 02 PD and am happy for those who got out of the hell hole, regardless of their PD and at the same time I will keep pushing for USCIS to get better. I am actually seeing this effect in DOS VB this year. DOS is getting better at the game and moving the dates slowly and this summer EB-2 I/C will not go beyond Jun/Jul 05.

I think SKIL/CIR etc are all carrots for the "would be" immigrants to slog their ass off - ultimately, American Congress will only do something if
A. There is enough pressure from Business community to enact a change.
B. Persistent efforts by organization like Immigration Voice in educating the lawmakers and using lobbyists like QG&A to get our voices heard.
We have a legitimate cause but we have to use the right "modus operandi". We need each of the members of IV to go back and talk to their HR/Legal/Managers/VPs/CIOs etc to ensure that our voices are heard. Immigration Voice needs corporate backing and you can help here - make your employers aware of Immigration Voice and retrogression. Ask your employers to contact the Congressmen and Senators of your state on your behalf.
We need a legislative reform and the only way to achieve it is to make your voices heard and your opinion count.

I think very few people will disagree with the fact that EB2 I will retrogress in OCT. Reason for this is DOS always tends to take conservative approach to set the cutoff dates in the first and second quarters.

I filed I-140 on July 5, and was hoping to get the receipt by this week because as per the press release ( dated 7/13), NSC was supposed to be time complaint with regards to I-140 receipt date by 7/18/2007. But they again changed to 8/1/2007. You never know they will NOT change it again!

I agree... i dont think its wise to call USCIS about the VB fiasco... the operators are probably minimum wage paid and are reading off of a book/compter screen.. not the ppl who can make decisions.. if it werent the us govt, we would have calling up even lower paid workers in India/Philipines and hearing from them... instead of calling USCIS, please spread the word, create awareness in the political system, press and media..

For a change - at least it feels like someone is listening and that I am doing something for a change in my situation.
I have asked people (my friends and office colleagues (Americans and non-Americans included)) to call the Congressman's office and express support. I am sure at least 10% of the people whom I spoke to will be calling the Congressman's office.

All I heard is something like below. I am not sure what I heard is correct.
1. Bes tway to take 401K out is to rollover the 401K into Roth IRA and then withdraw from the account after 5 years. You can save lot on taxes.
2. For all H1b holders, there is a form which you can fill and submit to IRS which says you want to get all the SSN money back. But once you fill out this form and get the money back, you SHOULD NEVER enter US for any reason. I do not know what the form is.

I know there is a whole lot of people asking if they can do a Executive MBA or Masters and qualify for the US Masters exemption. My question is, what about someone who started and did his Masters in his field of labor application from a accredited university, after applying for EB3 labor, and now has labor and 140 approved but waiting for PD, will this person also qualify for US Masters, or will he have to start a new labor application based on the masters degree ?

It is amusing to see that there are quite a few people who want the very door closed that they used to enter. It is even more amusing to see that the fault is always someone elses. It is similar to all the people who are opposed to immigration because it is someone elses fault that they are losing their job. Down right funny :p.
We need to focus on solving our problems without blaming others for our problems. Because once we go down that lane, we are no better than anyone from NumbersUSA or any other organization/ people who are against immigration. It is OK if we do not support increasing H1B - but saying that the H1B program needs to shutdown is not correct. I am sure that one can reason in the same breath that the EB3 category needs to be eliminated so that retrogression can truely be eliminated :eek:
