Any advantage of opening an account on USCIS website to receive automatic case status updates? or I don't need to do that if I keep checking the status online by myself?
They send you and email if something changes, nice if you have a Blackberry/pda
If you have multiple cases i-129, i-131, i-140, i-485 you can see them all on one page, I find that easier to see LUDs in particular the "soft" non-action ones, but it's nice to know the file was touched.

Hi All,
I have come across situation where people who primarily filed 485 to NSC and their cases have been transferred to Texas or other places. In their notices the receipt date has been mentioned as the date on which the case received later by another service(TSC, CSC etc) center and not the date on which the case was first received by NSC.
So technically it is not the fault of the applcant and in some cases they lose 3 or more months for AC21.
Can someone or moderators explain if one can argue with USCIS to put the receipt date as the original for AC21 considerations.

Received the email from Cris I-140 approved today.
I just would like to know how long it should generally take for I-485 approval. Now visa's were current when I file I485. What is the status now do I have to wait for visa's to be current again? Sorry for lack of knowledge GC process takes so long sometimes its good to just forget about it :)

My friend John Lamb in Nashville blogs today about ICE's Hutto detention center where whole families are jailed while awaiting deportation. The "A" number eventually becomes your GC number. It is not necessarily the Visa Number...we don't get to see the Visa Number.

My husband got into the country through the Mariel port
immigration from Cuba in 1980 hes been in this country since then. Im a
US citizen we are legally married. The problem was that 20 years ago
when he was about to get is residency he got incarcerated and the
process was can canceled by the immigration office. About 4 or 5 years
ago he lost all of his papers he has no ID or any document that proves
his legal status. Which I think is not going to be any help anyways
because he never got a Visa number he did got a an alien number but of course he doesnt remember it so basically he is in paper limbo, because you need an ID to get an ID. He recently got his Cuban passport but now we find out that is basically useless. I been trying to get someone to please explain to me in this case what can we do? It seems that because he is Cuban and enter the country as a refugee almost 30 years ago no one can tell me for sure what will be the procedure in his case.
Please if there anybody that can help I would really appreciated

Reuters talks to Pakistani tennis star Aisam ul-Haq, who made it to the men's doubles finals of the US Open this week about his immigration problems entering the US. He seems to maintain a positive attitude despite being regularly grilled by US immigration officials. When you travel on AP carry both the copies. On the PoE the IO will keep one and give the second to you after it is stamped. You use the returned/stamped Copy for your future travel
When one applies for AP in Multiple entry category they will be given 2 AP dox. lets say if one has used both on travelling like both has stamp of POE can they reuse the same for future travel with in the one year period of validity ?

I am applying for Citizenship after completing 4 years and 9 months as a Permanent Resident in US.
Can any one please let me know as what is the processing time to get the Citizenship after I apply?
Also I have planned to move to a different State after I apply for Citizenship.
Please let me know whether it fine to move to a different address after applying for Citizenship? Else is this move not advisable?
Does this address change delay my Citizenship processing time?
Appreciate your guidance.

I received a RFE on 485 for a updated G-325 form and a Employment letter stating the Job details, Salary and if the Immigrant visa petition(labor certification) terms still exist. Iam a Jul,2007 filer, I have another 12 days to respond, this RFE was received by the company attorney. Now neither Employer/Company Attorney are responding to Phone calls/Emails regarding responding this to RFE. I do not understand what is their concern but came to know that few others from the same company got RFE on 485. Time is running out and if there is no response to the RFE, eventually the case will be denied. What are my options, Iam in my 4th year of my H1. I have a Valid EAD till Nov'2010 and H1 valid till Aug'2011. What will be my status if the 485 gets denied. Can I transfer the H1 to another employer and will need to start the GC process all over again ?
Any advice suggestions appreciated.

Our son was out of the country when we filed our 485 on July 2nd. Now he returned to US, how shall we file his AOS? Form I-485 or anything else? Shall we include a copy of our filing inside?
In addition, the I140 was approved after we filed. And the principal applicant went out of the country and applied H1 visas and returned also.
Shall we include the updated information of the principal inside or just the copy of the original filing?
